What Do We Have To Offer?

CanSkate When you sign up for CanSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. You will earn badges and other incentives as you learn fundamental skating skills. Lessons are given in a group format and led by an NCCP certified professional coach. Professional coaches are assisted by trained Program Assistants.

CanSkate is Canada's only national learn-to-skate program.

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system. Skaters who have mastered figure skating skills in STARSkate may also choose to pursue synchronized skating or pairs skating.

Off-Ice Training is essential for all Skate Canada members – right from CanSkate to the elite athletes competing at the Olympics.

Coaching Coaches are invaluable in the development of an athlete's skill. They are teachers and mentors for the thousands of young athletes they deal with in their day-to-day work. Currently, all coaches who work at Skate Canada member clubs must meet the minimum criteria as outlined in Rule 2402 of the Skate Canada Rule Book and other provisions from time to time by the Skate Canada Board of Directors, and be a member of Skate Canada.

Join Skate Canada When you sign up for a skating program at a Skate Canada member club you automatically become a member of the national organization. If you are thinking about taking skating lessons for the first time or you want to introduce your children to a healthy life-long sport.
